Scenic Hawaii Photos
By World Wide Ed
I need your help y'all!
The other day, I asked a question that I thought might be a good topic for da akamai WWE `ohana. In preparation for marketing for my new clothing line, I was thinking of taking photos of some models/regular folks, wearing da shirts, with a nice, "scenic Hawaii" kine backdrop in the background. I came up with a few ideas, but wanted to reach out to my homeys (YOU!) to see if you had any other suggestions. And of course... FREE shirts and stickers to all ideas I end up using! Who knows? Maybe you can even model in the shot (if you not shame)!?

Anyway, here are a few ideas that I thought might be cool. It should kinda answer the question, "When you think of Hawaii, what do you picture in your mind?" Add your ideas in the comment area below please. You da bes!
- Sunrise shot on Lanikai Beach
- Kids eating shave ice
- Kanikapila scene
- Fishermen/Fisherwomen fishing off a rocky shore
Speaking of models, if you have any connections to hotties (women and men), or even non-professional, everyday (cute) looking folks, holla! If you wanna be a model too, let a brutha know below. Shoots! Thanks guys!

I think of . . . well . . . being FIRST!!!!! on the WWE for 01/30/2012! [!]

I DO think of the beach. And, I think of plantation-style designed home.
But, lately, the one thing that is Hawai'i, to a Grease, might not be contained in a picture. Because a Grease is talkin' 'bout Hawai'i' fine fresh air. I've been to many places inside and outside of the country and . . . there's no fresher air than there is in Hawai'i (for some reason, the city-ous Tokyo came close . . . maybe it's the whole "island" thing were nice sea breezes come through alla' time; 'cept in Hawai'i's case, we're surrounded by tons of sea, no? Maybe THAT's the ticket to fresh air!).
Our water from the tap is not bad either. Oh, sorry, beginning to sound like a PSA here

i like the beach idea, although lanikai can be very windy sometimes (for a shoot) but very beautiful! anywhere along the way to matsumotos have nice beaches... of course at this time of the year, the waves might not be as calm. but i like shark's cove. combines the fishing on the rocks look and the beach look. shave ice is another good idea b/c it seems pretty unique to hawaii. adam sandler sports the matsumoto's shirts and shave ice is "featured" on hawaii five-o.
do you need kiddie models b/c i know a cute one that i'm pretty sure would love to do it!

other nice places... kaka'ako water front park, along the rocks... (just be safe b/c you gotta climb over the wall...) or ala moana beach park, magic island area, there's that quiet "cove" like beach area and the water is clean... or moanalua gardens, i know that's not a beach, but they have that "local hawaii asian" look near that koi pond.

Okay, I have some non-traditional ideas....
At eat the street or a similar type of street festival, block party, KCC farmers market.
Chinatown - a busy street scene. Too bad the chinese new years festivities are done.
On the waikiki trolley or that double decker bus I've been seeing so much of lately.
Keiki playing at a park or at a playground
Koko crater or makapuu lighthouse
Ordering from a lunchwagon or eating plate lunch in the back of a truck or on a curb somewhere.
At a UH sporting event
You should try and get Kamekona from Hawaii 5-0!

... hey Ed ... maybe you gotta think outside of the box ... because when I think of Hawaii ... I see coconut trees, beaches, bikinis, hula skirts, pineapples, etc ... you know all the stuff that's already been overdone ... but it has worked because that's what Hawaii brings to mind ...
... gotta brainstorm for ideas ... maybe us WWE'ers not the best choices to give ideas ...
... go for a different perspective ... to stand out from the crowd ...
... take a cue from Hawaii 5-0 ... you know how they do those panoramic shots ... or sweeping aerial shots ... of iconic places in Hawaii ... I love 'em!!! ... familiar places ... but from a different perspective ...
... instead of just beach scenes ... why no also do lush tropical forests ... or hiking trails ... with Honolulu in the distance ... from high atop the mountains ... with the ocean or sky as the background ...
... but wait ... I'm not even sure what your shirts will be like ... kinda hard to figure a way to promote it ... if we don't know what we're promoting ... did you ever mention what the general theme of your shirts will be??? ...
... will all your shirts have your mug on it??? ... topseller for sure ...
... Have a Good One Everyone!!! ...

How about photographing a nice looking pair riding bikes on the north shore bike trail along blossoming trees? Those were among my own favorite shots. People see lots of beaches, but few know about the pretty bike trail in the north shore.

This made me laugh... but my first experience (no really) waaaaay back, was the old diesel Wiki-Wiki @ HNL airport.
I can just see The Touri™ expression now: :-O
Preferred:
Waikiki Beach @ sunset - with silhouette palms & blazing sun... next would be Waimea/N. Shore/Sunset Bch. or during the huge waves & surfahs holdin' on fo' dear life!
Other not as often seen, but certainly not lost on me:
Ho'omaluhia State Park in Kaneohe has excellent scenery (think red ginger & waterfalls o'er da Ko'olaus)
Waimea Bay -
or
Waimea Valley - lovely flora & waterfalls if it has been raining.
Lei stands - i just LOVE lei stands!
Hula girls
How about playing ukulele or ? @ ___ Beach? I LOVE me some good chang-a-lang

Those ideas are pretty good. But what about us guys on the other islands. We have scenic places like Lilioukalani Gardens with Mauna Kea in the background. Some of us like to fish along the drive as well as on Coconut (Makuola) Island.
Hilo Bay
Volcano National Park
Akaka or Rainbow Falls
Hilo Lunch Shop - eating some of their onolicious food (wearing one of your shirts would look great)
You need model? Sorry, I shame ask the hotties. In fact, I get tongue tied
But if you like local everyday kinda people, get guys like me
bwahahahaha

Hmm, sorry I was busy eating shave ice
Tidepools would be kinda cool. And I agree, Lanikai can be pretty windy. Ho'omaluhia State Park is pretty and so is Foster Gardens in Nuuanu. Do you think stand up paddling? I wonder if the hibiscus hybrid farm is open for photo shoots. Or an orchid farm? Oh, how about a picnic at Magic Island?

Woo hoo!
Nope, totally feel you on those two points. Maybe a nice scenic hike with some folks drinking water. Two in one baby! Hahaha!
Would love to use your keiki, but maybe later if/when I start doing kid sizes. Starting off with adult sizes for now just to see what the interest is out dea.
All good ideas. Added them to my growing list! Thanks tpizzle!
Haha, I wish. Probably gotta go through one agent for that one. I stay small time yet.
I like the urban city ideas too though (Chinatown, food truck, etc.)
BAHAHAHA! I tol you. I like sell da buggahs, not scare people! I'm supposed to be getting the shirts in any day now so hopefully I can finally stop biting my tongue and let you guys know.
Oooh, I really like the bicycle idea! Noted! Thanks Bicycle lady!
This one is a mos def! Kanikapila is Hawaii fo sho!
I go look you up when I come up dea. Fo now, gotta stay low budget until it takes off (hopefully).
I thought about SUP too, but I wonder what that will look like since most guys usually go topless for that. I like picnic/BBQ kine action for sure!
Haha, nope. It's Monday. Muhahaha, nah! Yeah, I know, I was late...
Good lookin' out!
