You like how I combo-plattered dat one yeah!? :P Das cause I know I could (potentially) get da fans of both Hawaii Five-0 AND American Idol to chat with me down below. I know, I know, shmall kine desperate, but whatdaheck... We go geev um one try anyway! ;)

#H50

Ho'opa'i - When a crime lord moves against the family of an undercover NYPD detective who infiltrated his organization, it's up to Five-0 to stop the policeman from exacting revenge.

As usual, there was active and amusing #H50 chatter last night on Twitter to go along with the show. Some notes on the show for us to talk about today:

  • Hilarious how Kamekona referred to SPAM as "the Hawaiian steak" and "the nectar of the islands"! But wea's da SPAM Musubi gundtfunnit? LOL!
  • The return of the ridiculous Waiola Shave Ice ad on McGarrett's cast. I wonder how much they paid to get on the show??? And how da heck do I get that kind of exposure for Oceanic Mobile up in the heezy? 8)
  • What did y'all think of Puff Daddy's/P Diddy's/Diddy's/Diddy Dirty Money's/Sean Combs' acting? Needs work ah? :P
  • And how about those Kia hamsters in the commercial? Cute or annoying?

Just a reminder, next week's episode is a rerun, but the following 3 weeks should all be new episodes to close out this first season! Woo hoo!

American Idol - Top 7

Here are my notes this week on the American Idol (Top 7) Contestants. Add comments for your favorites below!

  • Casey Abrams - Wasn't too fond of his last performance. Didn't quite get it. And what was with the standing O from the judges?
  • Haley Reinhart - Hopefully, she rebounds with a better performance this week or Lauren may be the only wahine left.
  • Jacob Lusk - I like that he's trying to sing songs straight forward nowadays, but still not too fond of his style.
  • James Durbin - Turned me off a little with his attitude towards the mentors last week, but gotsta give him props for standing up for what he believes in.
  • Lauren Alaina - Looking forward to another awesome performance from my favorite to win it all!
  • Scotty McCreery - Gotta give him credit for keeping his ego in check as of late (or at least acting like it for TV). His singing (or maybe song choice) is picking up too.
  • Stefano Langone - Here's one whose ego has gotten the best of him. He's my prediction to leave this week.

Aloha means goodbye:

My picks for the Top 3 finalists are:

  1. Lauren Alaina
  2. Casey Abrams
  3. Karen Rodriguez

Shooooots! Have a good one y'all!

OMG OMG OMG!!! I HATE THOSE DAMN LOCAL KIA COMMERCIALS!!!!

the original kia commercial w/computerized hamsters w/the orignal track by black sheep was fine... odd, but fine. but when i watch the local one i'm so irritated and embarassed for them attempting to re-create a computerized hamster commercial in GIANT hamster costumes... ugh.

the national kia commercial forgot the best part of that song... "engine, engine number 9..."

my pops keeps asking me, "what are they saying at the end? what is that whole do dop dippity? what's that mean?" lol...

"On the New York transit line...
If my train goes off the track,
Pick it up! Pick it up! Pick it up!"

Hahaha! Used to love that song from Black Sheep!

  3. rayboyjr:

    Good Morning Errr-One!!!

... hey Ed ... or should I say "Do Da Dippity!!!" ... ha! ... why you mixificated the blog topics??? ... too much ... overload ... short-circuit ... zap ... *blank*

@tweetpeep22 ... agree with you on that ... the original was kinda cool in the beginning ... the digitized hamsters were good ... but the local commercial is ridiculous ... like a cheap low budget use-car commercial feel to it ... and the hamsters suits look more like rats to me ...

.. You can get with this, or you can get with that ...

... damn, song is gonna be in my head all day long now ...

    ... Have a Good One Everyone!!! ...

  4. tita leerz:

I was just telling the hubz last night that I would like to shoot those rats! H50 is a "hot" show, if ya know what I mean...those KIA rats just...I dunno...someone get me a BB Gun. I'm with TWEET...I HATE THOSE RATS! What do rats have to do with cars?! Dear KIA, if you're reading this, that's a really dumb commercial.

Diddy on 5-0? He did OK. I thought I would have a hard time taking him seriously. I'm glad that they didn't put "Guest Starring: Diddy."

Now, if only they can get the Rock to guest star.... 8)

  5. Chicken Grease:

Yeah, the national Kia ad's getting a bit tiresome. A bit clever when first came on the scene, but, also, a bit creepy. Absolutely cannot STAND the localized version of the commercial; wonder why the heck whomever's singing the "get with this, get with that" ditty is singing the thing so slowly. They air this ad SO many times on TV that I will NEVER buy a Kia. Ever.

And I don't understand the whole "Hawaii 5-0 is brought to you by Kia." Cripes, they ain't the only sponsors of this hit show; far from it. I will NEVER buy a Kia. Ever.

5-0 no drive Kias anyways. They drive, what? Chevrolets. American made trucks. Motorcycles.

Well, well, nice to have seen Keith David (of The Thing and Platoon many other films) playing an underworld boss in this one. THAT guy is the man, LOVE his acting.

I dunno about Ditty/P. Diddy/Puffy/Dirty Ditty Money, whatever the heck he's calling himself this week, being in 5-0. I cannot help but figure they made this story all 'round Ditty's character. I mean, the wife and child are in Hawaii to, what, be as FAR away from Ditty's character's undercover operation as they could . . . and mob in which he's infiltrating's got some nice digs in East Oahu? I mean, it's like the WHOLE operation, on both sides, was seemingly transplanted from New York to Oahu, yes, as I mentioned, where Ditty's character's family is. Auwe, I no understand!

Still very much lovin' the antics 'tween McGarrett and Dan-o. So funny Dan-o's reaction to McGarrett saying he will do things by the book.

I think DDK (that's a Daniel Day Kim to you hipsters who are fans of DDK) had common cold while filming this ep', no? Could tell.

When I watch 5-0, I wonder if/how any of their cases might run into rush hour because, as you know, folks, there ain't NO police and/or 5-0 chase going on during that time no matter what.

There have been more than a few Federal police interventions 'tween 5-0 and their job, both negative (last night's ep'; and remember that one episode, I believe was the Dane Cook ep', where Feds were tailing said Cook's character) and positive (McGarrett's gal pal on that carrier who helps him with satellite'g. crooks from time-to-time; and McGarrett thanks her very well for it :) ). They need to fix this because makes 5-0 look very non-task force. I'm not sure how they would fix this.

I say make more serious next season. Too bad HBO cannot take up this series (now THAT would be a good 5-0 series; cursing; violence x 100, ahhaha).

I tune in each week, or at least when have new episode. Really good show. Can't wait 'til the Wo Fat storylines REALLY get underway.

Ah, never mind P.Diddy/Dirty/Plea$e choose a name already. What would rule is if Ice Cube appeared guest star, bhwhhahahahha.

Grace Park Grace Park Grace Park Grace Park Grace Park Grace Park Grace Park Grace Park. I like see you 'round town, please. MAKE yourself seen!!! PLEEEEAAASE!!!!!!! The end.

  6. theDman:

Agree about the local Kia commercial. Poorly done. The national version was Ok, racist yes, but still Ok..."they be Seoul brothas man..." I flip the channel when that stupid local version comes on.

"Sean" (I don't use nicknames) was a name face on the show. He was not a name talent, just a face. Yeah, he came off as an amateur and I don't think that surprised anyone.

The overall storyline was good I thought. Implausibilities throughout, but that is normal.

  7. theDman:

    Chicken Grease,

I think GP live east Honolulu. That's what I heard. She definitely not my type, although I would like to take her out to dinner...and lunch...and breakfast...anything to make her eat! Know what I am saying?

She's a nice enough person though.

  8. Chicken Grease:

Heh, thanks for that info, theDman. [the Grease starts his car to head out to the east . . . :)]

LOLOL! I saw her one time at Yogurstory Ceeg. I was telling my friend come with me cause I wanted to get a picture, but by the time we gathered ourselves, she got on her headset and was talking to someone. D'oh! Oh well. LOL!

I guess what I don't understand is why they didn't use a name face on the show who could actually act. It was horrible, but like you said, it didn't surprise anyone. :P
