Didn't have time to catch last night's episode yet, but let's try something a lil' different this time. Instead of jaberring away and doing all da play by play myself, check out the synopsis and video link below and chat away! :)

"Five-0 joins the Honolulu Police Department in a high-speed police chase that ends with the driver fatally injured, and a gruesome discovery by the team. The investigation leads to an awkward reunion between Chin Ho and his ex-fiancée."

Loved the CHiPs references. It's been awhile since I heard the name Ponch! ;)

Which ones? I recognized one guy as the father on Rush Hour 2 I think. Yeah, just watched it back. LOL!

The end was funny when Kono said that guy is hot and they both said that was them. ;)

I neva know Chinatown was in Waipahu... ;)

McGarrett parallelism and Chin Ho's lament. At first I thought (and, sorry, spoiler for those who haven't seen last night's ep' yet) McGarrett was REEEEEAAAALLY leaning into that woman who architect'd that whole fake ransom. But, yeah, somehow lost track of how her shenanigans lead into the death of that boy's father. The show's starting to add some emotionalisms to the fray. Not no straightforwardness of a Law and Order with 5-0 anymore, if that was EVER the case (by the way, a Grease thought a Law and Order: Honolulu would kick major a'; hope that happens one day).

And, so, I guess it's no surprise that there seems much more to Chin Ho's deal than we're led to believe. Yeah, was a nice surprise to see 24's Reiko Aylesworth (I thought she was TONY ALMEIDA'S WIFE?! Bwahhahaha, that goes out to all you 24 fans!!!) on this here 5-0. What I caught was . . . as Chin Ho seemingly is accused of something he didn't do, so has he seemingly designed something that leads his family (i.e. 'cuz Goddess Grace Park's reaction in that hospital/elevator scene) to believe that Aylesworth's Dr. character is at fault for their divorce. I mean, brah, what comes around goes around so no make habuts kind when HPD ac' all snobbies to you! Heh, nah . . . this too is a storyline that will be interesting to see develop. I didn't get, in the very beginning, when Chin Ho tells Kono (who is played by The Goddess Grace Park if you didn't already know), "you got the badge and the wheel." Chin Ho you get badge, too [!], right? Or was that meant to be some kind of Freudian slip? Yeah, will be interesting to see how develop.

More characters from 24. Ehhhh, was a nice surprise to see another 24 notable (there SHOULD be a 24-like Hawaii 5-0 ep', no? As in the 5-0 crew solves a crime in REAL time one hour!!!! That would major kick) in Tzi Ma, no? He was such a controlled, evil being in his Chen Zhi role in 24, was interesting to see him in a more vulnerable stance in last night's 5-0 ep. Hope they can somehow bring him back, even as a different character, good actor him.

Honolulu suburbs, so, I want my royalties. Scroll back, arrow back, research back to a WWE #H50 discussion where a Grease advocated for scenes that include Honolulu suburbs and not just the millennium-old parts of Hawaii . . . not one, but TWO scenes (Central Oahu, right? One of 'em at LEAST in Mililani) that display Oahu's nice 'burbs. Looks like 5-0 producers/writers/whoever are reading this blog, so, they need to get in touch with a Grease for more ideas and get Ed's cameo role on, pronto.

That 5-0 tech'. I know we mentioned before, but, man, that tech' table that 5-0 got, where you can swoop online documents from said table to a screen that all in the room can see. Just simply bravo! And something to ask for Christmas, yes? MORE 5-0 tech, please!!!!!

More of Dr. Hiro. Heh, Masi Oka's Dr. Max Bergman's getting more screen time on the show, but, we fans of Hiro from Heroes w'an see more. Should give him an entire show to himself, I dunno, 5-0 team investigating something on the neighbor islands one day or something? What would immensely kick a' is if a James Kyson Lee (Hiro's sidekick, Ando) appeared as a police-type to help Bergman with one of the latter's own investigation. Was that the REAL Medical Examiner's office portrayed in last night's show (had a "MEDICAL EXAMINER'S OFFICE" logo at the top of the building entrance that they used); thought the real medical examiner's office in Honolulu was near Iwilei, by the Dole Cannery? Not that I ever had to visit the medical examiner's office, eech.

The other Diamond Head. That was something, heh. The mere idea of the Honolulu (though, wasn't that part of town more Leeward area?) sun shining on a severed head, mein Gott.

This morning. This morning, The Goddess Grace Park and I . . . heh, no. Uh, driving past the Kamehameha statue, yep, 5-0 was filming. Their lunch area has a GRILL. Oh, mercy, if you work around there and smell that and have to settle for the lunch wagon BBQ, so sorry for you. Last, uh, Friday, when I drove by, same time that morning, there were sandbags in front of the entrance where you can get your state (not driver's) identification card. I just HAVE to wonder if those sandbags have to do with next week's tsunami episode (inevitable, right? You just KNEW there was going to be a tsunami-based episode, this being Hawaii, where we all live in grass shacks — despite aforementioned suburbs — and our weekly tsunamis dakara we live on an island, right? Riiiiiight; oh, I tangentialize. Ahem. I should've just gone on to say, ". . . with next's week's tsunami episode in which case, geez, CBS is really cranking out these episodes quite quick) or some WWII flashback scene. No?

Wo Fat's presence. I dunno if it's just a Grease, but, I think this show has done REALLY well with the Wo Fat introduction. I mean, a Grease compared his introduction with a decidedly Nolan-esque The Dark Knight feel. You can seemingly sense his presence throughout each episode, even if he didn't/doesn't appear. You know he's planning something 'gainst McGarrett. Dacascos does controlled anger in his characters well also and he seems to have perfected it in Wo Fat. Can't wait to see how stuff develops with this too (you KNOW that thing where the 5-0 crew had to, uh, "borrow" that undocumented-Chin Ho knows HPD "funds" that ended up being burned up in Waipahu will be part of Wo Fat's plan, no?).

The Goddess Grace Park. That is all.

Wait, one more thing. When Idol comes on, no watch if FOX decide to air on Mondays. Support 5-0. So say we all (now, if you are a TRUE Goddess Grace Park fan, you know what that means ;)).

    Good Morning Errrr-One!!!

... hey Ed ... just dropping in ... enjoyed the episode ... aside from the typical scenic shots of the beautiful landscapes (both the natural island kine and the beautiful babe kine) ... this show has been showing a lot more depth ... at least for me ...

@Chicken Grease ... no, that's not the real Medical Examiner's office ... that is actually the Board of Water Supply building ... I'd recognize that anywhere ... and I remember seeing the filming of that scene in December ... they just dolled it up with a fake sign and stuff ...

    ... Have a Good One Everyone!!! ...

  9. NeedaHobby:

@Ed - Chicken Grease listed one character. The other was Chin Ho's ex. Reiko Aylesworth played Michelle Dessler on 24.

i enjoy all the hawaii 5-O episodes. i enjoy the show for what it is and guessing where they shoot the scenes. i don't get technical with all the details because that would take away from the enjoyment. btw happy new year.

In another WIH moment, anybody else try to figure out the location of the Farmer's commercial with Jake Shimabukuro? I knew it was Aloha Tower, but trying to figure out exactly where. Finally, at the end you can figgah um out. Try, try! :P

LOL! So true beeBz, but yeah, I think for some, it actually adds enjoyment when they are are able to "solve", so to speak, certain things on the show. I know for me, I get a good chuckle when the name doesn't match the scene, but I don't let it bother me. It's all for TV and the betterment of our state. :) Happy New Year beeBz! Long time no see!
