Tokkuri-Tei Grand Re-Opening... Tonight!
By World Wide Ed
OK so I lied when I said that my "Christmas Lights in Kapolei" blog was the last post of the year, but there's a good reason for disturbing your peace and quiet this holiday season. *grin*
You see, Tokkuri-Tei, my favorite restaurant on the planet, has moved, and tonight is the grand re-opening at their new location: 449 Kapahulu (the old Sam Choy's/Sergio's/Ranch House, above Hee Hing).
This post was made with equal parts of the following in mind:
- inform you of the move (not everyone knows yet)
- invite you down to come eat with us tonight
- support Santa, Kazu, & the rest of the Tokkuri-Tei posse on this new chapter in their lives
- encourage you to give them a try (once is all you need to get hooked) or
- encourage you to continue to support them at their new location
- starve you half to death with the following photos! hehe!

Sunagimo Karaage (Chicken Gizzards)

Seafood Risotto
(still trying to convince Santa that this should be called the Sugimoto Risotto
)
See y'all there!

Good morning. You'd think I'd learn by now ... not to look at your blog, if I'm hungry. GAH! Everything looks so ono! Is that ahi tempura poke spicy? Those nori-chos look interesting.

Is the new location bigger than the old one? How's parking?
December 27th, 2010 at 9:37 am
The sauce on the plate had a little spice, but not too bad. Handles. Yeah, the Nori-chos is super goooood Hobbz! Fly ova!
Yup, yup! Maybe double or more, but still has that hole-in-the-wall izakaya vibe somehow. Not sure if the lot underneath is valet only or not so I've just been parking on the road right in front (free after 6pm). Last night, we noticed the FHB could be another option after hours, but should double-check on that... See you there sleepy!

Eddie (DA MAN)
Call Jr., maybe he'll keep you company tonight (it's his day off).
Kapahulu Avenue has a lot of restaurants along it, and this will be a welcome addition to the restaurant scene there!
Have a great holiday season!

Anything fried is grindz yeah?
If you want me to hand deliver the note, you can give it to me. Whatever's easier. D'uh! Just thought about it. Mailing it is probably easier. LOL! Happy Holidays!
I doubt it. He's gonna have to get permission first. Hehe, nah, nah. I'll send him an email. Don't wanna wake him up right now.
Yup, was real quick. Moved out and in within the last week.
LOL! I thought first round at 8 FatFat 8 was on me?

Ed, have fun and let us know how it is.
My guess for "Where is Ed" for 12/29 is Tokkuri-Tei on 12/27, reason is the grand opening and time is 8:15pm.

Ed you're famous I saw a picture of you serving someone at Tokkuri-Tei
December 29th, 2010 at 10:12 am
mmmmmm. the ama ebi is winnahs. once when i went with a group of friends to the old location (near dave's), there was a table next to us that had ordered a big sushi set. they finished everything except the fried shrimp heads. i guess they thought they were decoration. i was so tempted to reach over when no one was looking to grab all of them to eat! i love tokkuri tei's version cuz there is not so much breading on it and they are usually huge. plus i love to gross out the wife by chomping on them whole. new years resolution - get my butt to the new tokkuri tei!
December 30th, 2010 at 11:38 am
@ soogs:
Next time if you want the shrimp head you just pretend you are the guy that clean tables then bring out your ziploc and eat the shrimp..omg funny!
January 3rd, 2011 at 7:39 am
LOL! Not sure if you'd call that fame cheche, but I'll take it!
LOLOL! I would've been tempted too big bro! That's like the best part! Ahahaha!
LOL! Good idea Rosey!
