93 comments later, bruddah Takeshi came through in the clutch last week and won it with his guess of Mac 24/7. Congrats Takeshi-kun! Funny thing is I didn't even think it would be that hard.
And now, for my next trick, I will be making thangs even harder easier in anticipation of comments/guesses galore! Play along with me won'tcha!?

I tink.......Mitsu-ba. Ho, hungry now!
July 29th, 2009 at 12:21 am
No, No, wait. Maybe Gulick?
July 29th, 2009 at 1:18 am
Or is it Fukuya?
July 29th, 2009 at 1:27 am
I could just go through the phone book, but nah. Why should I have all the fun just because I'm the only one up. Time to go sleep! (And dream of garlic chicken)
July 29th, 2009 at 1:44 am
Yup, it's Gulick Deli. I was just there yesterday and immediately recognized it.
July 29th, 2009 at 2:11 am
I don't remember Heights drive-inn looking like that but that's my guess.
July 29th, 2009 at 2:50 am
those musubis look good!!! one more week!!
July 29th, 2009 at 4:49 am
That looks like Gulick.
July 29th, 2009 at 4:58 am
And let's be honest ... don't you all think that the more bus' up da place is, da more ono da grinds? Some suspects; Mitsu-ken, Big Kahunas (their old spot), K's Bento in Waipahu, Char Hung Sut, Miki's in Pearl City, Gina's Barbecue, Boston's Pizza, En Fuego Kapolei, Richie's in Kalihi ... and you all could add on and on.
July 29th, 2009 at 5:07 am
Ynaku would agree, in Hilo, bus' up suspects would include: Kawamoto's, Koji's, Reuben's (before the reno), Jimmy's ... but they all get mean grinds!
July 29th, 2009 at 5:13 am
Gulick Deli on King Street
July 29th, 2009 at 5:50 am
Yeah, probably a Japanese style delicatessen like Gulick's. I spark da nishime.
July 29th, 2009 at 6:19 am
I don't know, but looks ono!
July 29th, 2009 at 6:38 am
Good Morning Ed!
Looks like Gulick on King st.
I'll take 1 musubi, 1 spam musubi, nishime and fried noodles to go please...
July 29th, 2009 at 6:48 am
I think it's Fukuya. The musubis look familiar.
July 29th, 2009 at 6:49 am
I agree with kuya. Those buss up place get some ono grindz. I think we going Kawamoto's today for bento before heading out to the job site.
Hilo Lunch Shop good BUT getting expensive. PLUS, you no can stop ordering cause look so guud too.
My guess for today is also Gulick. But which one? The one on Gulick Ave. Or is it the one on King next to Kochis? hmmmmm?????
July 29th, 2009 at 6:50 am
I think it's that Saimin stand accross Kaimiki High School and Crane park. Sh#t, what is the name? Now I'm p$ssed. Is it Sekiya?
July 29th, 2009 at 7:33 am
Hmm, I don't know ... but, it looks good! I'll take some nishime.
July 29th, 2009 at 8:21 am
No clue where this is. Haven't gone to an okazuya in ages.
@Kuya and Ynaku: I miss Hilo Lunch Shop. The nori chicken is sooooo good.
July 29th, 2009 at 8:26 am
I didn't know that Starbucks had that kind local fuud!!!
so, Edward, da Silly Pillies sign Cliff Lee.. nice.. have to say I'm glad.. he seems like a better fit den Roy-boy in the rough-and-tumble Pills clubhouse..
plus a lefty is nice fo' replace Ole Man Moyer (listen to me, ha ha)..
plus, we can always use a Korean guy on da team for da kal-bi..
golly, how wud Ko-re-ans pron his name.. Pirries Refty Criff Rhee..
July 29th, 2009 at 8:59 am
Geez ... looks so pristine for an Okazuya ... I prefer the old style okazuya ...
... look through the glass window from the street to see the food .. inside get fine wire mesh screen to keep the flies out ... and get one old Japanese man or woman who cannot speak English too well ... but the food is OH SO GOOD!!!
Don't know what this one is ... but I love 'em all ... I've become partial to the simple simple flavors of St. Louis Deli ...
July 29th, 2009 at 10:11 am
I going officially go with Gulick's on Gulick, didn't they do a reno a couple years back too?
July 29th, 2009 at 10:13 am
And what's the name of the okazuya on king street, right before Chef Mavro and McCully Jack in the Box?
July 29th, 2009 at 10:50 am
Kuya.d:, was that okazuya place Ebisu's? They might have closed.
July 29th, 2009 at 10:52 am
Augh! My post didn't post
I thought it was either Fukuya, Kabuki or Gulick. Gulick was my first guess. I posted to wwe!
July 29th, 2009 at 11:09 am

July 30th, 2009 at 12:39 pm
Sup y'all. Sorry for the delay. Shmall kine slammed at work. Coconut Willy got um with Gulick. Congrats C Dubbs!

Oh youknowdat! En Fuego not too buss'up though. But still some ono.
Yes and no roach!
Looks good yeah hemmaz!
She go Paco!
Mmmm... fried noodles... Gaaaaaah!
Nopes cheche.
Sounds good though!
Good question naks! Stay the Gulick Ave one.
Yup yup, I think you thinking of Sekiyas. But not there either cheche. They good too though! Shout out to my homies Lauren, Lisa and Lori, who used to work there and give the hookups.
Love me some nishime too Hobbz!
Same here EMMbot. This one is from my 2007 archives. LOL!
I was pretty stoked about this one, but I do still want Roy. Greedy yeah?
Cliff is part Korean ooj?
Bwahahaha! I can just picture it beej!
Good call dewz!
D'oh! I would've given you the win if your timestamp was earlier than C Dubbs' one too!
I first became one fan back in the Dykstra/Kruk days. There's nothing I love more than players who hustled like them. That's why I love Victorino, Rollins, Utley, etc. and hate Manny Ramirez with a passion! Haha! They still get chance fo land Roy!? WOAH! That would be killah! Maybe he'll be in rotation when I go watch them?
'twas H2L... 'twas!
Wifey makes one yummy one too.
But yeah, Ebisu's was bomb m.c.at!
Hehe, time for a return snizzow?
Word, but not the one on King J Knockers.
Ewwww!
Ahahaha! Sorry dewz! Shmall kine busy. But I stay here now!
I think they stay on Cooke Street now... Anyone?
July 30th, 2009 at 5:12 pm
@kuya.d: yeah, i think it is on cooke street. i used to pass by it everyday going home when i was working at aig. the sign was still up, so i'm assuming it's still open.
i was going to guess mistuba, but didn't see any of the garlic chicken musubi's in the display. gotta admit, those are pretty awesome.
