I'm not gonna lie y'all. I think this week's one is gonna be a bit of a challenge... Even for you Hawaii experts. Put on your thinkin' caps and get ready to learn, son! Ah, at least the hint this week will actually be a usable for once. Oh yeah, congrats to bruddah Marvo for correctly guessing last week's location!

A-ight, enough with the chit chat...

Y'all ready for this!? (*cue music and picture the scene from "Bring It On"* :P )

  4. Ynaku:

    Island Snow?

  5. Ynaku:

    Watched the Houston / Lakers game last night. What a blow out. 40 points? A come on. Good thing we were in a bar. Had something else we could do.

  6. che:

    Ed's kitchen? Have no clue. Go Celtics!!!

  7. M:

    Good Morning Ed! :)

    Have no clue.

  8. Paco:

    Not a clue. I gotta get out more. Golden Coin?

  9. kuya.d:

    Ummmm . . . glad I didn't stay up to be first.

    But Idol was pretty darn solid last nite. Kris and Gokey should be scrapping for that second spot. Even though Adam's not my favorite, he's still bad ass and you always look forward to his twist on the song he's performing.

  10. kuya.d:

    Ed - so when's Van Gundy gonna teach the Magic to maintain or streeeeetch their lead in the 4th quarter?Gotta be extremely frustrating for ya.

  11. NeedaHobby:

    I dunno. It kinda looks like a coffee shop?

    It's too close to call on Dial Idol. I wonder if one of the faves will go home. They already played their save card ...

  12. t-roy:

    I don't think this guess is right, but is it Down to Earth

    * We're down to three. Who's getting the boot this week in A.I.?
    - I think it will be Gokey. I was surprised to hear Simon let the audience/viewers know to vote for Adam even if they think he is a shoe-in for the finale. It should be interesting to see which two will make it, and a glimpse of all three of their hometowns. Plus a fan bum-rushed Adam.
    * NBA Playoff talk?
    - We know the Cavs are in. Lets go Nuggets, Magic, and Rockets.

  13. rayboyjr:

    Just to have a guess ... I say ... Down to Earth ...

    ... still no eye candy ... :(

  14. Kage:

    Tuff wun dis time Ed.

  15. MakiSushi:

    Interesting looking place, very cozy. Is that one avocado in the picture? As usual I got no clue. I get hard time remembering which side is South King St. :lol:

  21. kako mochi:

    hmmm...i'm not too sure about this one (what else is new?!). only place i can think of that MIGHT be national chain on that st is that honey glazed ham place...but i've never been there, so IDK!

  22. jknakas1:

    It reminds me of a Ba-le, or a Kozo/Aloha Sushi type place, but other than that, I'm stumped!

  23. kuya.d:

    @kako - my mom used to order ham from that place for Christmas, and if I recall, it's all glass front reefers with wood panel décor in there. And it smells very yummy.

  24. kuya.d:

    Those look like Thomas Kemper brand sodas on the left. And that avocado looks more like a papaya. And Ed, you blurred out the name next to 'menu' didn't you? Or is the light just blocking it?

    And still no freakin' idea!

  25. Syxx:

    They have the same microwave I do.

  26. uncle jimmy:

    * Coconut Willy:
    Ya got me Ed. Is it Burger King?

    Nope C Dubbs! But some of their hash browns sound kinda good right now. :P

    * Syxx:
    Boba Loca?

    What in the!?!? This one was supposed to be hard too! Congrats Syxxy! You getahm.

    * gecko:
    Syxx got it. Boba Loca.
    You can see the logo on the cups on top the register.

    Holy crud! You got some good eyes gecko! And I thought I was sly blurring out the "Boba Loca" at the top of the menu too! Haha!

    * Ynaku:
    Island Snow?

    Nope. Dey get one on King though naks? I need to get a board/travel bag soon.

    * Ynaku:
    Watched the Houston / Lakers game last night. What a blow out. 40 points? A come on. Good thing we were in a bar. Had something else we could do.

    Haha! That's kinda how I thought the last game would go too (with all their injuries), but Rockets are still fighting for their life. Gotta appreciate that I guess.

    * che:
    Go Celtics!!!

    WHAT!?!?!?! *blocking che* ;)

    * M:
    Have no clue.

    Hehe, maybe you can whisper where you usually hang out and I can post that one next M! ;)

    * Paco:
    Not a clue. I gotta get out more. Golden Coin?

    Nope Pac-man. But good guess.

    * kuya.d:
    Even though Adam's not my favorite, he's still bad ass and you always look forward to his twist on the song he's performing.

    I agree booya.d! Adam makes it interesting, but I always try to look at it from American Idol's perspective: who they think will sell the most records. Honestly, in this group, I don't think any of them will do well, records-wise, that's why I chose Allison to win. Shows how much I know. Haha!

    * kuya.d:
    Ed - so when's Van Gundy gonna teach the Magic to maintain or streeeeetch their lead in the 4th quarter? Gotta be extremely frustrating for ya.

    You're telling me! Dammit! Van Gundy's gotta snap already pretty soon. He has to stop trying to be a nice guy and every player's friend. Coach um or we're going home! :(

    * NeedaHobby:
    It's too close to call on Dial Idol. I wonder if one of the faves will go home. They already played their save card ...

    The hard part is each of them has a pretty good following. Adam has the popularity vote, Kris has the teenage girls, and Danny also has the girls (and kuya.d :P ). Too close to call, but my co-worker said something interesting. If Kris or Danny goes home, their votes will probably go to the other, which will make it a good competition against Adam.

    * t-roy:
    I was surprised to hear Simon let the audience/viewers know to vote for Adam even if they think he is a shoe-in for the finale.

    I know yeah? Seems kinda unfair/bias, but I guess they want a good/interesting show for the finale (ratings). BTW, thanks for cheering for the Magic t-roy! I already like you. :P

    * rayboyjr:
    ... still no eye candy ...

    Ahahaha, next time I gotta go beach den yeah beej?

    * Kage:
    Tuff wun dis time Ed.

    Sorry Kagz... :\

    * MakiSushi:
    Is that one avocado in the picture?

    Haha, I think so Maka B. I wonder why yeah? Avocado drink maybe?

    * HNL2LAS:
    Surprisingly part of a national chain... has teas.., coffee cups.. bottled something and a white boot.... I DUNNOOOO!!!! hehe...

    LOL! I know, hard yeah H2L?

    * M:
    It's looks like a place I never been to before.

    :P

    * k15:
    Green Papaya?

    Nope, but that's somewhere I wanna check out next! Good stuffs k15?

    * uncle jimmy:
    the deli inside the starbuck's inside the bathroom inside neiman marcus at the airport, mainland concourse..

    if i stick with this long anough, it's bound to be right eventually..

    Haha, one day ooj... one day... NOT! :P

    * Syxx:
    Uji, you forgot to specify MEN'S restroom

    :P

    * kako mochi:
    hmmm...i'm not too sure about this one (what else is new?!). only place i can think of that MIGHT be national chain on that st is that honey glazed ham place...but i've never been there, so IDK!

    Oooh honey glazed ham place. Do tell!

    * jknakas1:
    It reminds me of a Ba-le, or a Kozo/Aloha Sushi type place, but other than that, I'm stumped!

    It does yeah!? That would've been my guess too knockers.

    * kuya.d:
    @kako - my mom used to order ham from that place for Christmas, and if I recall, it's all glass front reefers with wood panel décor in there. And it smells very yummy.

    Hmm... name?

    * kuya.d:
    And Ed, you blurred out the name next to 'menu' didn't you? Or is the light just blocking it?

    Very sharp dea booya.d. Don't want another Jurison's! Haha!

    * Syxx:
    They have the same microwave I do.

    Ahahaha!

    * uncle jimmy:
    we need one name for tall, ugly, skinny, haole dat stealz bases in t'rees..

    Haha! I showed wifey the highlight of that the other night. That was nuts! Didn't know Werth had any kind of speed. Gotta love the hustle and head's up playing though! Tush? What about Thief? :P

    * mcat:
    i think it's time for gokey to go on A.I. adam should definitely get in though... wish allison was there in the finals!!! shucks..

    I know yeah! Adam vs. Allison for the finale would've been off the chain! The American Idol producers missed their chance for that one! Maybe they'll get it right next season... Oh well. *sigh*

  29. uncle jimmy:

    Syxx:

    Thanks, but I sometimes wander into the women's room just to check out da shooz.. :lol:

  30. uncle jimmy:

    Da Teef..

    :lol:

  31. uncle jimmy:

    Syxx..

    you do get dat joke, yeah?

    a man's pers-pec-tive.. :lol:

  32. NeedaHobby:

    @Ed -

    Too close to call, but my co-worker said something interesting. If Kris or Danny goes home, their votes will probably go to the other, which will make it a good competition against Adam.

    Very good point! BTW, am I the only one who doesn't care for Adam? I don't care for all the shrieking that he does. :roll:

  33. kuya.d:

    @Hobbz - Adam might be shrieking but he's holding notes with skill, plus the way he arranges the song, changes tempo . . . he puts his mark on the song. Kris did really well last nite. My boi is gonna say aloha oe tonite.

    @ed - I dunno about the idol producers juicing. The fans buy the stuff from their faves. Besides, with all the downloading, who actually buys whole albums anymore? I only buy the one / two songs that sound good to me, and I usually buy the songs that never make it to radio.

    @Syxx - good job! eh, you not tailing Ed ah? Nah!

  34. kuya.d:

    @ed - btw, the place was called Honey Glazed Hams. They were on king st., past rudy's flowers, before humane society, that same side of street. They sell huge portions of ham (for parties / holidays). I think they do ham sandwiches too. They kinda pricey, but some ono.

  35. NeedaHobby:

    @kuya-

    Adam might be shrieking but he's holding notes with skill, plus the way he arranges the song, changes tempo . . . he puts his mark on the song.

    I can see what you mean. But, it's just that, I was really enjoying his rendition of "One" until he started shrieking. I dunno, maybe I'm just too old - no can handle screaming anymore. :lol:

  36. Syxx:

    Good joke uji! :lol:

    I didn't even see the cups, Ed. Was kind of weird that I guessed right. It was either a sandwich shop or a drink shop, so I went with drinks cause of the avocado shake sign. Then I thought, "what place would be a chain?" Most places that aren't Jamba or CBTL are local stores, so I was stuck. Then I remembered seeing Boba Loca and telling a friend, "What is that, Mexican bubble tea?" Put two and two together, got a headache and guessed. Winner!

    Thanks guys!

  37. snow:

    congrats syxx! boba loca is a chain? whodathunk? uhh... where the heck is that, anyway?

    and to think that i was up when this post came out and could have guessed first... of course, ed, you gotta put up some pic that i have absolutely no idea about! curses! hee hee... :roll:

  38. uji:

    @Syxx..

    you in da zone today... obscure fuud locations an' obscure movie refs..

    you jus' one obscure individual, yeah? da mo' obcuah, da bettah, you :lol:

  39. Syxx:

    Boba Loca is like...on King and University..ish. I get tattooed around there, so it's just something I noticed. Never been there.

    Uji, I guess it's just a good day for me. Normally I'm not this good, unless it concerns 90's music, comic books, or movies I been forced to watch.

  40. Coconut Willy:

    What's a Boba Loca? Is it like living la vida loca?

  41. MakiSushi:

    hemajang, my heartfelt sympathy to you and the Yoshida family in your time of sorrow. Take care.

  42. kuya.d:

    @hemaz - our prayers are with you and the ohana.

  43. snow:

    my deepest sympathies to hemajang and the yoshida family. take care.
