Flashback Friday: Finish This Song - March 27, 2009
By World Wide Ed
Not sure how many of you peeps are still in vacation/Spring Break mode, but let's give another old school song a whirl shall we? Hopefully thurr's enough of us around to finish the song.
I learned my lesson from last week though. Picking a short song with not too many words/lyrics quickly ends our fun. So you know what I did this time around? I picked a rap song. OH YEAH! Get CHOKE words now! Smahtchyea?
Anyway, you know the dealio. Hurrrr we go!
My my my my music hits me so hard, makes me say oh my lord...
Know um? Well, don't just sit there. Regulate Appreciate Participate.

Happy Aloha and Flashback Friday! Have an awesome weekend y'all! Shoooooots!

. . . it feels good when you know you're down, a super dope homeboy from the Oak Town. . .
Speaking of Oak Town (Oakland), McClymonds High School was in the California Div-1 bball finals. They got durshed, but that's Hammer's alma mater.
. . . and Ed, I dunno if you were with us that time in Berkeley. Me, Eric, Tommy, and Garrett caught the BART back from San Fran, and we were transferring at 12th street (Oakland). We get off the train, and a bunch of "dudes" start eyeing us. Eric's like, "okay, no matter what, just get on the next train."
Only then did we realize we all had Nike jackets, not matching but probably worth getting jacked for.

. . . and I'm known as such, and this is a beat, UH, you can't touch . . .

Aloha Ed,
Is this a trick song? Is it a religious song?
Don't let me strain the brain, especially in my senior years! Hahahaha!
Would Jr. know?
March 27th, 2009 at 7:12 am
No lie, you liked Vanilla Ice better than Hammer!
March 27th, 2009 at 7:33 am

March 27th, 2009 at 7:44 am

March 27th, 2009 at 7:51 am

March 27th, 2009 at 7:53 am
@kate - all I know is we waited to see if they were getting on the train, they didn't, so WE DID!
I transferred at that station before, but we probably looked like a gang to those guys.

I had a friend at UH who memorized the dance to Ice Ice Baby.
He used to dance along to the video whenever it came on.
Yeah, he was kind of a dorky white guy. haha! good fun!
March 27th, 2009 at 10:47 am

I know what you mean about the weighlifters BF(F)!!! LOLOLOL!
At the clubs beeBz?
Wasn't there, but sounds like it was a good thing I wasn't. LOL! I like catching the BART (from San Fran into Oaktown) to catch the Oakland A's. The stop literally leads right into the stadium. Not dangerous at all.
LOL! I like "UH" part!
Just make a made face or ack all nutz and they'll leave you alone k-train. LOL!
LOL! Nope, not a trick song. Yeah, I'm sure Jr. would know. He's got mega memory!
Oooh, that's another good one frankenberry. I know all those lyrics by heart. Ack, probably shouldn't publicize that. LOL!
Cheat Naks! Cheat! (google.com)
Did you just say homeboy Hobbz?
You tell um EMMs!
LOLOLOL! I won't even ask what your "ballerinas" are rbj! Hahaha!
Maybe that's what made um baggy leerz? You tried befo?
I do!
Nice! You sure you wanna admit that he was a "friend"?
Yeah YEAH!
---
OK, so either the next line is too hard, or peeps are still in vacay mode. So I'll keep it goin' yo!
Cold on a mission so fall on back (?)
Let 'em know that you're too much and this is a beat (UH!) you can't touch!
Yo I told you! (u can't touch this)
Why you standing there man? (u can't touch this)
Yo, sound the bell, school is in suckah! (u can't touch this)
(Can't wait til we get to the "break it down!" part! Will you all promise to dance with me during that time?
)

so I remember this MC Hammer song (and the video comes to mind with those baggy pants) but don't know the words. I won't be much help without the help of google.
What I do remember is this song that was sampled -
She's a very kinky girl
the kind you don't take home to mother
March 27th, 2009 at 4:43 pm
. . . Give me a song and rhythm, makin' um sweat that's what I'm givin' em, now they know, you talk about Hammer-"ed", you talkin' bout the show . . .
Uh-oh-oh-uh-uh-oh . . .
You know what I wanna do in oak town? I gotta catch a g-state warriors game at Oracle. Last time I was up there, they were road trippin'.
March 27th, 2009 at 4:47 pm
@skycastles - that was the best line of the song! Fresh new kicks!
March 29th, 2009 at 10:14 am
@ed - kay, no other lyrics so I gotta skip to this line:
. . . Everytime you see me, the Hammer's just so hype, I'm dope on the floor, and I'm magic on the mic. . .
March 29th, 2009 at 10:52 am
LOL! I know. I'll just post the video for old time's sake.
March 29th, 2009 at 12:33 pm
I just wached the vid - was the little chick at the end always in it? I don't remember that part LOL
March 29th, 2009 at 12:35 pm
@ kate -
Continuing on your song since we seem to be done with Hammer:
"She will never let your spirits down,
once you get her off the street"
March 29th, 2009 at 4:37 pm
. . . she likes the boys in the band,
she says that I'm her all-time favorite . . .
March 30th, 2009 at 9:03 am
... When I make my move to her room it's the right time
She's never hard to please ...
